Fergie
Fergie Duhamel (born Stacy Ann Ferguson) is an American singer and actress. She is best known as a member of the hip hop group the Black Eyed Peas.
She credits Hypnotherapy with helping her make sensible eating choices and avoid over eating. She told OK Magazine, “Yep. It works. My girl is a trained therapist. It’s not just some flighty person who hypnotises people. It’s normal therapy and at the end, you go into a more relaxed state where she can speak to my subconscious. It’s almost a dream state, so you’re highly suggestible. I’ve done hypnosis for eating, and later I’ll got to the refrigerator and hear her voice telling me to be sensible.”
Orlando Bloom
Orlando Bloom is an English actor. He is most famous for his roles as Legolas in The Lord of the Rings and Hobbit film series and Will Turner in the Pirates of the Caribbean films.
He told US chat show host Ellen DeGeneres: “I broke my leg when I was about nine skiing, so I had a cast from about nine to 10. For some reason it was a year in a cast. It was at a time when I used to be really sporty and stuff, so I just started eating chocolate and I got a big tummy. I got so tubby that I remember my mum took me to a doctor and said, ‘He just can’t stop eating chocolate’.
The doctor used hypnotherapy to break his addiction to chocolate. It restored a healthy lifestyle and after the cast came off he slimmed down.
Lily Allen
Lily Allen is an English singer, songwriter, actress and author. She use hypnotherapy to drop two dress sizes in 2009.
In an article in Hello magazine in 2009, her then Hypnotherapist Susan Hepburn spoke about it. She said “During sessions, I taught Lily to favour healthy, low-fat meals instead of junk food. And to see that alcohol isn’t a confidence booster, it’s just extra calories that sabotage your efforts to get a good body”.
She went on to explain that she used hypnotherapy techniques to change Lily’s views on junk food and alcohol. Reinforcing that they sabotaged her efforts to lose weight. She also focused on being positive about how she saw herself rather than being self-conscious and negative.
Courtney Love
Courtney Love is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. A figure in the alternative and grunge music scenes of the 1990s, she best known as the lead singer of the rock band Hole.
After an unsuccessful crash diet in 2007, she turned to hypnotherapy expert, Paul McKenna, to help her stay thin. In 2008 she told the Daily Mail newspaper, “I’ve known Paul for years. I lost weight last year the old-fashioned way by dieting and living off protein shakes. But it was hard to stay disciplined. He’s brilliant and is totally responsible for me staying so skinny. Whenever I start to feel my resolve weaken, I go to Paul for another hypnosis session.”
