Past Life Regression
Tina Turner
Introduction
In 1977 Tina had a past life regression session where she saw a past life in ancient Egypt. In her 1986 autobiography ‘I, Tina’, she stated she was female pharaoh Hatshepsut.
Tina Turner (born Anna Mae Bullock) is a US Singer, Songwriter and Actress. During the 1970s she started to explore alternative beliefs and religions including spiritualism.
Past Life Regression
Hatshepsut, also Hatchepsut and known as ‘Foremost of Noble Ladies’, lived from circa 1507 to 1458 BC. Hatshepsut assumed the throne of Egypt in 1478 BC. As the principal wife of Thutmose II, Hatshepsut initially ruled as regent (a person appointed to govern temporarily because the monarch is unable to discharge the powers and duties as monarch) to Thutmose III, who was just two years old. He was a son of Thutmose II by another wife and the first male heir. However, Hatshepsut continued to rule by asserting her lineage. She was the daughter and only child of Thutmose I and his primary wife, Ahmose.
Turner’s research revealed that ancient Egyptians believed that many statues had the power to speak. Thutmose III reputably broke the noses and mouths of his stepmother’s (Hatshepsut) statues to silence her. This had a strong resonance with her as her ex-husband, Ike Turner, used to hit her on the mouth and nose. She also thinks Ike was the reincarnation of the evil pharaoh Thutmose III, who was prevented from taking power by Hatshepsut.
It is thought that we have soul families and that we often are reincarnated at the same time. So, the idea of Ike being the reincarnation of her step son from a previous life is entirely possible.
In an interview with the Dutch entertainment magazine, Privé, in 1982 she gave more details about her beliefs and past lives. She said, “Most people are afraid of death and don’t dare talk about it. I am certainly not afraid of it because a little while ago I came very close, I know I don’t overestimate myself. I will tell you why I’m not afraid of death. That’s because I’m extremely curious about the afterlife. Because I know that it isn’t the end when you leave your earthly body. You will live on in a different dimension or a different world. I am very sure, that my spirit will live on in a different place, as it has lived many times before. Yes, of course I believe in reincarnation! I know, that in previous lives I’ve lived in France, and long before that in Egypt”.
Researching her Past Life
And when she has visited Egypt there were strong feelings of belonging. She said, “I spent holidays there because I felt so strongly connected to Egypt. That strange feeling of recognition became very strong when I was in Egypt at excavations and saw images of Amenhotep [the son of Thutmose III], a pharaoh from the 18th dynasty. Something strange happened to me. I knew that I was one of the portrayed figures, that I had lived there in that time!”
Knowing so much about her past life in Egypt has meant that is able to have a rather unique ambition. She said, “I know it sounds strange when you don’t believe in those things, and also for myself I’m looking for evidence. Since my stay there, it is my biggest wish to find my own mummy. The mummy of the body I once lived in… I hope I will succeed some time, because it would be true evidence of the reincarnation theory that I strongly believe in. That’s why I hope to go back to Egypt, to find evidence!”
It’s sometimes possible to research a past life and find your former self in history. For example, a recently client of mine saw a life as a lady who lived in a chateaux in 18th Century Belgium. He was to find that chateaux, which is still in the same family. And, the name in this past life is a family name used to this day.
In her song “I Might Have Been Queen,” (from the album Private Dancer) she alludes to her reincarnation in the opening lyrics:
I’m a new pair of eyes every time I am born
And original mind because I just died
And I’m scanning the horizon
For someone recognizing that I might have been queen
For every sun that sets there is a new one dawning.
