Reincarnation

Lady Gaga

Introduction

Lady Gaga believes she is the reincarnation of her aunt. Her aunt, Joanne Stefani Germanotta was the sister of her father, Joe Germanotta. Her aunt was born in 1955 and died of Lupus (also known as Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) at the age of nineteen in 1974.

Lady Gaga (American Singer, Songwriter and Actress) whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta attended an all-girls school, Convent of the Sacred Heart, in Manhattan. She later went on to study music at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University.

Lady Gaga was born in 1986 and is said to closely resemble her aunt. She has said, “I believe you can be reborn over and over again. I believe I was my father’s sister. My father’s sister died when she was 19 years old and I believe her spirit is with me and so I believe that I am her reincarnation”.

She has long held spiritual beliefs and but does not always talk about them. She has said in the past that, “When I talk about this in America they look at me like I am crazy cakes.””

Reincarnation

Lady Gaga told the News of the World (UK Newspaper), “I realised my father’s sister, Joanne, had instilled her spirit in me… And I believe she had so much unfinished business on this Earth. She was a poet, writer and painter – and I had a spiritual vision I had to finish her business. I never met her but she’s been one of the most important figures in my life”.

Furthermore, her family agree that she look like her aunt. She says, “Whenever I see my grandmother or my family, they say: ‘You look so much like her’”.

In 2011 she spoke in an interview with MTV about her inclination towards music. She said, “I don’t know exactly where my affinity for music comes from, but it is the thing that comes easiest to me. When I was like three years old, I may have been even younger, my mom always tells this really embarrassing story of me propping myself up and playing the keys like this because I was too young and short to get all the way up there. Just go like this on the low end of the piano”.

She continued, “I was really, really good at piano, so my first instincts were to work so hard at practicing piano, and I might not have been a natural dancer, but I am a natural musician. That is the thing that I believe I am the greatest at”.

Higher Self

She also believes her aunt Joanne intervened to help her overcome an addiction to cocaine as well as help her to focus on her career as a singer. She told Rolling Stone magazine in 2010 that looking back on that part of her life “petrifies” her, but it was part of her “artistic journey”. This is an example of your higher self or soul intervening to help you and keep you on course for what you intended to achieve in this life time.

‘For A Moment’ is a poem written by her aunt, Joanne Germanotta, which Lady Gaga has published in her The Fame album booklet. She has explained that she did this because her aunt didn’t have the chance of being published during her lifetime.
